French oboe 392 Hz

after Charles Bizey (1690-1752)
Musical instrument collection of the Brussels Conservatory

The low pitch of this instrument gives it a soft, dark sound. It is played with a one-piece staple and is distinguished by its easy response in all registers.
This oboe is especially suited for music by French composers, but is also good for playing with instruments at modern pitch (transpose one step higher).

The instrument is made of European boxwood. Other wood is available by request.
Each instrument includes a soft case and a fingering chart.
